However, the sky darkens as Benny practically knocks the stuffing out of the lone baseball of the team, a symbol of impending tragedy or, worse, ill luck.

Fearful, the crew mobilises to retrieve it from the Beast’s grasp, constructing a succession of mechanical ball-retrieval mechanisms that get ever more intricate and absurd as the Beast’s size rises in their imaginations.
